Born May 9, 1999 in Clintwood, Virginia, Rowdy Rawhide's Rock came from an ancestry of fast single-footing and speed racking horses. His grandsire was the famous EZD's Falcon Rowdy, twice speed racking world champion, owned by John Demetris. Rock's sire was the well known Rowdy Rawhide, owned by Steve Wright of Clintwood, Virginia.
Rock is a dark bay, 15.2 hand, well mannered, smooth riding, four beat gaited stallion. He is triple registered with SHOBA, NASHA, and RHBAA. His most awesome quality is his 28 to 30 mph single-footing speed. This speed was not achieved overnight, but through continuous training combined with Rock's competitive spirit and desire to please, he became one of the fastest single-footing horses in the south.
The goal of our farm is to raise fine quality foals that grow into smooth riding, level headed, well gaited, easily handled speed horses that anyone can enjoy. We strive to choose breeding mares that will accent the fine qualities of this wonderful stallion and carry on the reputation of the Rowdy line.
FANCY ROCKSTAR, DOB 8-8-10, this beautiful, TWH gelding is 14.3 hands already and will probably reach 16 hands, he has had some work in the round pen, has had a saddle on his back, has been trimmed, trailered, ponied with golf cart, haltered and bridled, needs a little more age and will be ready to break.
